The retreat

With the focus to heal female soldiers who suffered sexual assault during their time on duty, this V.A. clinic hosts a 12 week assisted living program to help them heal psychologically and physically. PTSD is a serious event that marks the person for life, they need helping to ease the traumatic experience. The building is run by a full female staff so the patients can have a better sense of safety, together with the fact they share space with other sisters who suffered the same events. The idea of the circle is introduced, it is a shape that soothes the psychological for being smooth and easy to monitor hallways and keep a look on patients.

A remastering of the project is underway, with new Lumion renders and tweaks on Revit. I have learned a lot since 2016 when this project was conceived, and it is one of great importance.
